About Us

H2E stands for Highlands Square Ensemble

The group began with the desire to share our love of chamber music with enthusiastic concertgoers. In 2013 Helen McDermott, Margaret Gutierrez and Sara Fierer formed Highlands Square Ensemble and began carving out time to get together to study and practice not just for performance but to convey our love of music. We are a group unified by a strong commitment to rehearsal coupled with excitement to share in performance. Felix Petit, violin joined in 2016 and Adrienne Short, violin was a member from 2017-2022. Margaret left the group in 2016 and rejoined in 2022. Alex Vittal joined in Fall 2021.
